Every year in Japan, Starbucks releases a sakura Frappuccino for a short period of time, but if you can’t grab one from Japan then it’s time to make one for yourself! Let’s add a bit more of that signature cherry blossom flavour to this one.
Ingredients for one 200ml Sakura Frappuccino:
Sakura powder 7g
Hot water 2 tbsp
Strawberry/raspberry jam 1 tbsp
Milk 50ml
Frozen strawberries 3 (+1 cut up for decoration)
Vanilla ice cream 2 tbsp
Cream 60ml
Sugar 1 tsp
Vanilla few drops
Granola as needed
How to make this Sakura Frappuccino:
1. Add cream, sugar, and vanilla together and whip until you get soft peaks. Put this into the fridge for later. When ready to use, transfer to a piping bag. *You can substitute this for canned whipped cream, but I don’t think it looks or tastes quite as nice!
2. Slowly combine the sakura powder and hot water until you have a smooth paste.
3. Combine the paste with jam of choice.
4. Combine most of the paste with 50ml milk, leaving behind a bit of paste for decoration.
5. Blend milk and paste together.
6. Add frozen strawberries and ice cream, blend.
7. Create a layer of the leftover sakura paste on the bottom of your cup.
8. Layer on a few cut up strawberries, then the sakura frappuccino blend, then top with whipped cream and crushed granola to decorate.
9. Enjoy!
