As you probably know by now, I'm Cassie. I grew up in the UK, but one way or another ended up interested in Japan's culture and language, so I headed off to university to study just that. I spent my third year at university in Tokyo, and I loved it. Without even thinking about it I learnt so much about Japanese food that I hadn't even thought about before - trust me, there's so much more to it than sushi and tempura!

After I graduated, I moved to Tokyo. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do, I just knew that I wanted to use my newly acquired language skills. I ended up jumping from job to job, until I started working for a tourism website. I got a renewed interest in the food scene, learning a lot about what was hot and what tourists loved about Japanese cuisine.

Well, I've moved on from that job too. Now I work in tech, but I'm still on top of the latest food trends on social media - and on the side I've started this cooking channel! I'm learning, just like you. I make mistakes, I try things out, and I eat some pretty delicious food along the way!

I don't intend to live in Japan forever, so I want to get as many recipes down as I can before I leave. Hopefully then I can make them wherever I live, and you can too!
